This lavender honey latte is simple to make at home, needing only 5 ingredients, and taking less than 30 minutes!

Lavender – we all know the health benefits that come from this flower as an essential oil.  It helps to reduce anxiety and blood pressure, helps to boost a person’s mood and boosts melatonin levels for a better night’s sleep, as well as other health benefits.

Now, enjoy your lavender in a cup of hot coffee or as an iced coffee drink!  This recipe make 2 cups creamer.  When you make this drink at home, you know it’s going to be a lot less expensive than buying one from a coffee shop.  You can also make your drink the way you want it!  It can be sweetened the way you like, use the milk you prefer, make it caffeine free, vegan, organic!

What does Lavender Honey Latte’s taste like?

The lavender provides a light, floral flavor while the honey provides a natural sweetener.  It’s the perfect springtime drink, but can be enjoyed all year.  The lavender is not overpowering, but brings that element of comfort to your coffee (the same way the lavender spray brings comfort at bedtime.). It is sure to become a new favorite drink!

Honey and lavender are delicious when paired together!

Options:

Milk – Use your favorite milk in this recipe. I used whole milk as it adds a thicker, creamier texture, but any will do! For dairy free – you can use coconut milk, almond milk, or soy!

For a vegan option, use agave instead of honey.

Keeping your Lavender Honey Creamer fresh:

The honey lavender creamer can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.  It is best to keep it in a glass container (we use a mason jar).  Shake well before using!

Ingredients:

Milk – Use your favorite milk in this recipe. I used whole milk as it adds a thicker, creamier texture, but any will do! For dairy free – you can use coconut milk, almond milk, or soy!

Lavender – Dried lavender flower buds.

Honey – Add your favorite honey. Our family prefers to use local raw honey for its health benefits.

Vanilla Extract – The pure flavoring in a real extract provides a stronger aroma than using imitation vanilla.

Espresso – For the easiest and quickest option, you can use instant espresso. For my espresso, we love using the Moka Pot! It’s an authentic, Italian alternative to having a very expensive espresso machine on your countertop. And as a minimalist, I love anytime I can remove a large item from my kitchen counters!

In a 2 quart saucepan over medium heat, add the milk and bring to a simmer. Add the lavender buds and let simmer for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.

Remove from heat, add the honey and vanilla, and let cool.

After the creamer has cooled for 10 minutes, pour over a mesh strainer and discard the lavender.

Add your espresso in a tall glass over ice or a hot mug. Add the creamer to a microwave-safe container for a hot latte, heat on high for 30-45 seconds, and then shake the creamer in a closed container. Pour over espresso for that “frothy” cafe latte!

Items I used to make my Lavender Honey Latte!

For my espresso, we love using the Moka Pot! It’s an authentic, Italian alternative to having a very expensive espresso machine on your countertop. And as a minimalist, I love anytime I can remove a large item from my kitchen counters! This is the one we used for our espresso.

They also have generic brands from Amazon that have raving reviews, and is half the price!

You will also need a mesh strainer to remove the lavender buds after they have simmered.
